Submission Review Process Begins

Poetica Victorian has begun the submission review process for the second issue being released in September. Everyone is busy hear at the Poetica Victorian office as each submission is review carefully to see if it is right for our magazine.

In a conversation with the Head of Submissions, Michael Salvack, a good deal of information about what is going on at Poetica Victorian was revealed. "I am proud to say we have gotten a great deal of submissions for this issue. We thought when we first started the magazine that we would go slow. We were unknown after all. But now we have tons of subscribers and have submissions coming in all the time. It seems like every time I get through a pile of submissions I send up to the editors I get another five coming in."

More was revealed in a conversation with the editor (not the Chief editor), David Ben-Arie, on how things are proceeding with the review process. He even gave a little insight into the acceptance process, something any future submitters should take interest in. "Last issue I was a little depressed. I had come onto the team just after we opened the first submission process as the Head of Technical Affairs and was quickly welcomed in as an editor.... we got submissions, and good ones too, but not enough for me to say the magazine had kicked off yet. Yes, we had to reject a few submissions because we had an excess (even though they were really good and we really wanted to publish them), but it was nothing like this issue. This issue we have already seen over forty submissions and a few contest entries. The only depressing thing about getting all those submissions is that we have to reject most of them (we have a fixed number of poems we accept). As you know (refering to me), we first sift through the submissions and find the best ones, putting them on top of the pile (this is Michael's job). Then we go through the best and put the Victorian and classical style poems on top of the pile. This way we ensure that we get to accept our Victorian poems first, and they are only the best of the best we get."

If you have submitted than rest assured we will review your submission soon. All those who have submitted before the  review process have waited a long time and we are sorry for that, but they got the early bird priority so it makes up for it.
